This is so that followers understand what is going on in this verse that I’m working off of and will better help them when deciding on questions:

After the Alpha incident, Derek spent a few days holed up in his house learning to control the power inside him.  During winter break, once he was sure he wasn’t going to hurt anyone, he asked Stiles out and they began dating.  (NOTE: This has been updated from where I said “summer break” in order to make it fit better with the seasons storylines—I made a mistake previously.)
